Marvel superheroes have conquered comic books, comic strips, cartoons, movies, and even live-action TV, so it was only a matter of time before the scripted podcast drama domino went down. And so it will be next year, when the release of Wolverine: The Long Night comes to internet radio service Stitcher (an appropriate home for a mutant with sharp claws, no?).
After Wolverine: The Long Night hits Stitcher Premium in the spring, it will be released to all other podcast networks in the fall. But the really exciting thing about The Long Night is its ten episode serial format, which seeks to capture the appeal of podcasts like Serial with a story about two agents tracking a serial killer in Alaska – and they suspect a certain short, and short-tempered, Canadian mutant of the murders.
You can read an extremely in-depth look at the Wolverine: The Long Night serial podcast project here, with tidbits like the cast (which includes Richard Armitage as Logan) and the fact that this could be the start of what’s already being called the “Marvel Podcast Universe.” Stay tuned as we get closer to the spring of 2018 for more info.
