The latest Withings product might be not-inaccurately referred to as a “scale,” but the range of data it provides users towards the goal of creating (and reaching) more efficient fitness goals makes it much more than the usual bathroom scale. It’s the Withings Body Cardio, which gives you not just your weight, but your BMI and standing heart rate, plus percentages of fat, muscle, water, and bone.
Of course, a raft of data of that type might be more likely to make your eyes go crossed than give you a motivation to exercise better, so it’s good that the Withings Body Cardio syncs up with the connected smartphone app, which breaks it all down and turns it into information you can act on. The biggest deal of all is probably the Body Cardio’s ability to measure Pulse Wave Velocity, a sign of cardiovascular health that up to this point has required a visit to the doctor.
The Withings Body Cardio will cost you under $180 from Withings right here, or you can just see it in action in the video below. And remember to go out and get some exercise if you can. Your heart’s not gonna stay pumping blood forever.
