Many of us remember the carb-free craze of the early 2000s, when everyone became obsessed with cutting bread and other sources of carbs from their diets, and for some reason replacing them with as much meat as possible. These resulted in some interesting food oddities in the United States, but the trend appears to live on in Japan, at least judging by the appearance of the Wild Rock sandwich.
Whether or not the Wild Rock counts as a burger would probably make for nine or ten solid hours of fast food Twitter debate, so I won’t try to make any such conclusion here. But the sandwich is essentially a fried egg BLT with two beef patties in lieu of bread – yum? Possibly?
Reportedly only available in Japanese Wendy’s locations, the Wild Rock sandwich may never be more widely available than that – but you could probably whip one up in your kitchen easily enough
