We live in an era when awareness of wealth disparity and the general pitfalls of unchecked capitalism is increasing all the time. Now, even Burger King is offering lip service to those that the burger chain has fired over the years, with a new, and evidently very real, program called Whopper Severance.
In order to collect Whopper Severance, which offers a free Whopper to anybody who ever suffered the indignity of being fired from a Burger King, you have to suffer the additional indignity of admitting you were fired from a Burger King. And you have to do it on LinkedIn, where the first 2,500 users who add “I got fired. I want a free Whopper. #WhopperSeverance” to their profile will get a link to collect.
If you’ve ever been fired from a Burger King, or you want a free Whopper bad enough to lie about having been, you can reportedly apply for a Whopper Severance through LinkedIn until September 1st. Alternatively, you have two days to try to get fired from a Burger King.
