If you had asked me to guess which major fast food burger chains would be the first to adopt meatless Impossible Burgers for its menu, I probably would not have said White Castle. But it just goes to show, you never can tell, and now White Castle Impossible Sliders are reported to be coming soon.
Naturally, White Castle Impossible Sliders will be smaller and more slidery than other versions of the meatless Impossible Burger. And as Impossible Foods COO David Lee explains, White Castle was a natural choice for help in realizing the vision of the company:
“Even before we launched our first proof of concept for the Impossible Burger, we have always intended to be available everywhere, and to be affordable. We’re producing at a level of scale out of our Oakland facility where we can afford to provide this product at a fraction of what we were probably known for a short year and a half ago.”
White Castle Impossible Sliders are reportedly being tested at 140 White Castle locations in New York, New Jersey and Chicago, before a wider nationwide rollout depending on the item’s success in those markets. Stay tuned.
