One of the most likely outcomes of global climate change is that much of humanity will eventually have to make more peace with living near and around water. Designer Pierpaolo Lazzarini has come up with a pretty cool concept for that watery future: Wayaland.
Wayaland is just a concept for a city that floats, but as such it’s pretty impressive. Hotel, suite, villa, and club, are all found among the floating modules, which are said to be inspired by both Japanese and ancient Mayan architecture. Might seem difficult to picture, but you can see the vision for the city in the video below:
Who knows if Wayaland or anything like it will ever become a reality, but it is in the midst of a very real crowdfunding campaign. The structure for funding is that investors can become citizens, while visitors can book visits like at any other exotic locale. Check it out here.
