I don’t have any hard data on this, but if I had to guess I would say that New York City is probably the most photographed city of all time. It’s unarguably up there, which means that any photographer would have to work very hard to get a new angle on the city – which is what photographer Vincent Laforet did for his latest project, traveling 7,500 feet above the ground in a helicopter to photograph the city as it’s never been before.
It happened thanks to an assignment from Men’s Health Magazine, which gave Vincent Laforet the idea to go up above the city and capture the city at night in a way that until recently wasn’t technologically possible. The results are no less than fantastic, making the city look magical and a little intimidating at the same time – just like it is in real life.
