The National Football League‘s concussion problem is so widely known that there’s a Will Smith movie about it in theaters now, but actual solutions to the issue seem to be in short supply. One possible answer has been provided by Vicis – the Vicis Zero1 football helmet.
The Vicis Zero1 was designed with input from both engineers and neurosurgeons who know a thing or two about the effects concussive impacts on the skull can have over the course of a football game/career. The helmet comes in 12 different sizes for better fits on more players, and its structure is designed to deform at the point of impact much like a car bumper.
Hopefully, the Vicis Zero1, or something very much like it, will be adopted by the NFL at some point in the future. In the meantime, you can get more information on the helmet over at the Vicis official site right here.
