2014’s Unfriended was one of the more commercially successful of the “computer screen POV horror” subgenre, so it’s only natural that they’d go back for another round. And so, we have Unfriended: Dark Web, a sequel set in the frightening world of the anonymous “dark web” for various unsavory activities.
In this case, those activities include murder and torture for fun and profit, as well as some Jigsaw-like attempts to punish a group of mopes for stealing a laptop. That’s judging from the film’s trailer, which gives you an idea of what you’re in for of you take a break from social media to watch it:
Unfriended: Dark Web comes to theaters on July 20th. For more info in advance of that date, you can head over to the film’s official site right here. Fortunately, you don’t have to log on to the Dark Web in order to access it.
