Anyone who’s been awake for the last 17 years knows that the Tupac Shakur industry has only grown larger since the rapper’s tragic death. Now, the fascination with Tupac would appear to be reaching its next stage, as famed theater director Kenny Leon is currently working on a Broadway musical based on Tupac’s work.
The musical, entitled Holler If Ya Hear Me will not be based on the biography of Tupac. Instead, Leon will be using his music to develop an “anti-violence story.”
As Holler If Ya Hear Me is still in the early stages of production, information on stuff like casting is still to come. But funding has been secured, so it looks like this is really going to happen. Stay tuned for more.
