It seems that the people in charge of Nike are really getting into the whole space theme right about now. It probably has something to do with the NBA All-Star Game being in Houston this year, but I like to imagine it’s because Mr. Nike’s mom bought him a book about space for his birthday or something.

Anyway, first it was the Extraterrestrial Houston All-Star Pack, and now it’s the “Top-Secret” Area 72 collection. The collection includes five of the brand’s classic basketball sneakers, enhanced with the latest technology (and space-age details like glow-in-the-dark accents): The Nike Blazer Mid, the Nike Vandal, the Nike Lunar Force 1, the Nike Barkley Posite Max and the Nike Air Force Max 2013.

The shoes are scheduled to hit select retailers on February 14th, and immediate sell-outs are to be expected. Check out the above gallery for some images of the new sneakers.
