We generally don’t think of ice cream in terms of “freshness,” since it requires a certain amount of freezer time before it becomes, you know, ice cream, and by that point the freshness of the ingredients probably doesn’t matter as much as it might otherwise. But in Jacksonville, FL, there’s a place called Three f(x) Ice Cream & Waffles that has a machine that turns liquid into ice cream in a matter of seconds.
Three f(x) Ice Cream & Waffles’ instant ice cream machine recently caught the attention of none other than Alton Brown, who recently released a YouTube video of the machine in action. In the video, you can see how they make ice cream to order, by chilling it at 30 degrees below zero and skillfully collecting it off of the surface of the machine.
But why waste time talking about it? You can watch the video in question for yourself below. And even if you’re not going to be in Jacksonville any time soon to check them out for yourself, you can take a look at Three f(x) Ice Cream & Waffles’ Facebook page here.
