Thor: Ragnarok was directed by Taika Waititi, who also worked on the TV show Flight of the Conchords, which in turn was also worked on by famed music video and feature film director Michel Gondry, who first saw a bit of his own personal style co-opted on the show. One of the most influential examples of that style can be seen in the film Be Kind Rewind, which popularized the trend of “sweding” – creating low-budget, handmade recreations of popular films.
