If you spend any time listening to the radio, and especially if you spend any time listening to radio commercials, you know how boring and insufferable many of them can be (this probably goes for ads on streaming services like Pandora or Spotify as well). The people behind the 2015 Radio Mercury Awards are keenly aware of the detrimental effects of bad radio, which is probably why they released Things We Don’t Want to Hear in a Radio Ad.
Things We Don’t Want to Hear in a Radio Ad include hackneyed sound effects, stupid and/or meaningless advertising copy, and many of the other things that make you groan in frustration before changing the station. To illustrate these crimes against radio listeners, they got a professional radio voice artist and some pretty funny writing, and the result is a very entertaining pair of videos.
