The World’s Oldest Courvoisier Cognac Costs $145,000

World's Oldest Cognac

One good way to raise the value of a product is by letting it get really, really old. Case in point: This bottle of cognac from Courvoisier & Curlier, which is dated to 1789 (!!), and is now up for the price of $145,000 at Harrods, London.

In case you missed the headline, that 1789 birth date makes this cognac the oldest of its kind in the entire world, and thus, a high-premium item for collectors. No word on how it’s supposed to taste, but I would imagine this would be something you only drink on special occasions, if ever. ┬áIt’s just that old.
