The Watch Book: Rolex

One way to gauge the importance of an art’s practitioner by how well the general public, rather than followers of the art form in question, know the practitioner in day to day conversation. By that metric, Rolex has to be the greatest watch brand of all time, since it’s quite possibly the only watch brand that everybody knows – but the upcoming The Watch Book: Rolex by Gisbert Brunner is nevertheless targeted towards hardcore Rolex fans.

The Watch Book: Rolex is like a highlight reel for the last 112 years of Rolex, shining a light on the brand’s rarest, most expensive, and most unique timepieces since 1905, including:

“the first officially-certified wristwatches, the waterproof Oyster housing, the Datejust, and sports watches like the Submariner diver’s watch, which dates back more than fifty years.”

The Watch Book: Rolex comes out next month, but you can pre-order a copy at Amazon right here, where a hardcover copy is priced at just under $55.
