Russia is a land of mystery to most in North America. In the interest of free cultural exchange, a Russian filmmaker named Dmitrii Kalashnikov has created a film to help viewers all over the world understand Russia and its culture through the best way imaginable to do so: By viewing Russian dash cam footage. The end result of his efforts is called The Road Movie, and if nothing else it will probably make you stop cracking Florida jokes for a couple days.
The Road Movie is edited from hours and hours of Russian dash cam footage, which apparently depicts the fact that anything and everything can happen while driving your car around those cold (and sometimes hot) Russian streets. That may sound like an exaggeration, but the new trailer for The Road Movie can quickly prove otherwise:
The Road Movie reportedly hits North American theaters in January of next year. Keep your eyes out for it, for safety’s sake.
