Fox is trying one more time to revive the well liked but inconsistent Predator franchise, starring the world’s favorite interplanetary sportsman. The title this time around is of the definite article variety — The Predator, a teaser trailer for which was released today.
The coolest thing about The Predator, at least from my point of view, is that it’s the work of screenwriter/director Shane Black, he of stuff like the Lethal Weapon franchise, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Nice Guys, and as the trailer itself points out, Iron Man 3. Here’s the official dope:
“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
The Predator hits theaters on September 14th, and you can check out the new teaser trailer for the movie below.
