One might look at a painting by Vincent van Gogh and wish that they could step into the painting and walk around. Now, you can come as close as possible to doing that for real, thanks to The Night Cafe, a new virtual reality experience created by Mac Cauley and based on van Gogh’s painting Le Café de nuit.
The Night Cafe converts van Gogh’s distinctive visual style into a three-dimensional context, and even includes the artist’s famous self-portrait within the experience. And the good news is that even if you don’t have any virtual reality equipment, you can still take a tour via YouTube video that’s almost as good.
You can do just that by watching a preview of The Night Cafe that’s under a minute long below. And for more information on the project, head over to The Night Cafe‘s listing on VR Jam right here.
