One of the most consistently entertaining characters in advertising over the last decade has been The Most Interesting Man in the World, pitchman for Dos Equis beer. As played by actor Jonathan Goldsmith, the character has been the voluntary spokesman for Dos Equis since 2006, but now he will be going through some pretty significant changes.
This Thursday, Goldsmith’s final outing as The Most Interesting Man in the World will be released, depicting the Man on a one-way mission to Mars. Luckily for fans of the character, Dos Equis plans to replace Goldsmith with another actor in an attempt to “contemporize” the ads. If the public can accept different actors playing such heroes as James Bond, Batman, or Inspector Clouseau, why not The Most Interesting Man in the World?
