Anybody who saw Interstellar probably does not have high hopes for Matt Damon’s ability to survive by himself in an isolated Martian landscape. But judging from the first trailer for his upcoming space drama The Martian, it’s possible that the guy just might be able to redeem himself.
The Martian is about an aborted Mars mission that accidentally leaves Matt Damon’s astronaut character behind, and he has to fight to survive while waiting for an unlikely rescue mission to save him. It’s kind of like Home Alone but on Mars, and with no immediately evident sign of comedian John Candy.
You can watch the trailer for The Martian, directed by Ridley Scott and featuring an impressive cast apart from Matt Damon’s solitary, stranded astronaut, below. And even though Matt Damon has to wait at least four years for help to arrive, you only have to wait until November to see the movie. Until then, you can check out its official site right here.
