Sometimes when I’m stuck in traffic and it’s 108 degrees outside I find myself imagining a giant asteroid crashing into the Earth and killing humanity, disintegrating all of its dumb cars (except for mine, of course) much like what happened to the dinosaurs. The latest Pixar joint, The Good Dinosaur, proposes an alternate timeline (similar to The Flintstones) where that original asteroid impact never hit, and dinosaurs co-exist with humans in what incidentally appears to be a traffic-jam-free environment.
I’m making that observation based on the release of the first full-length trailer for The Good Dinosaur, which from a commercial standpoint is coming out at a perfect time with Jurassic World mania in full swing. According to that trailer, the movie is all about the titular good dinosaur, an Apatosaurus by the name of Arlo, who makes friends with a cave-child named Spot in order to go on a typical Disney/Pixar-style adventure.
You can watch the first full-length trailer for The Good Dinosaur below. To see the movie in full, you’ll have to postpone extinction until November 25th, when the movie is slated for release. In the meantime you can check out its official site here.
