George Carlin died ten years ago, and these days it’s pretty tempting to say we could use him with us still. I don’t know about that, but I do that The George Carlin Commemorative Collection is coming next month, and it’s likely to be the next best thing. Carlin’s daughter Kelly helped put the set together, and she says it’s full of old favorites as well as new, previously unreleased (or barely released) stuff:
“While digging around in dad’s stuff, we found a few gems that we just couldn’t keep for ourselves. It’s amazing to think that ten years after his death, we keep finding stuff I’d never seen before!”
The George Carlin Commemorative Collection will include the all important spine of his body of work: His 14 comedy specials for HBO. It also includes The Real George Carlin, his very first comedy special from 1973 that’s never been available since it first aired 45 years ago, as well as APT 2C, an unaired pilot also for HBO Carlin did in the 80s.
The George Carlin Commemorative Collection comes out on June 12th, but you can pre-order it from Amazon right here for about $72.
