Golf, whether you love it or hate it, is defined by its slow, quiet patience, closer to a subtle suspense film than an action blockbuster. But a few golfers on the European Tour recently turned their game of choice into a high-speed adrenaline fest in an attempt to break the world record for The Fastest Hole of Golf.
While The Fastest Hole of Golf is focused on a single, definite goal, it might just be pointing the way to the future of the sport, which combines the basic mechanics of hitting a ball into a hole with an unprecedented level of speed and excitement. If I were a PGA Tour executive, I’d be getting pretty nervous right about now.
I won’t spoil whether or not the attempt is successful, but you can find out for yourself by watching the four-minute The Fastest Hole of Golf for yourself below. And for more from golf’s European Tour, check it out on YouTube right here.
