Batman has to rank as one of the most prolific characters in all of fiction, having appeared in countless film, TV, and animated adaptations, not to mention the myriad comic books and strips that have featured him over the years. And if you’re as obsessed by the Dark Knight as the rest of the world seems to be, you’ll definitely want to take a look at The Evolution of Batman in Cinema.
Editor Jacob T. Swinney compiled The Evolution of Batman in Cinema starting with clips of the 1943 serial Batman all the way up to The Dark Knight Rises (Ben Affleck’s upcoming Batman doesn’t get included, yet), and jumbles them all up so they all seem more or less equal. It’s a neat trick, especially given the surprising aesthetic diversity evinced by all the different big-screen versions of Batman.
If you’ve got a spare 10 minutes in between fighting crime and posing as a billionaire playboy (or whatever it is YOU do during the day), you might want to watch The Evolution of Batman in Cinema below. And for more from Jacob T. Swinney, check out his Vimeo account here.
