BMW is getting into the electric bike business with “the Cruise.”

The Cruise’s 250-watt Bosch electric motor can propel the bike up to 15.5 miles per hour for as far as 53 miles.  The Cruise also sports disc brakes and four different modes of assistance so that the rider can choose the kind of ride he or she wants. The Cruise definitely seems to do for electric bikes what BMW has always done for automobiles.

Unfortunately, BMW has yet to announce any concrete release details for The Cruise. But you can see some images of the Cruise electric bike in the gallery at the top of the page.
