Lil Wayne recently gave an interview on radio station Q93, and naturally, the subject of Tha Carter V came up in conversation. And despite the album’s long-delayed release, owing in part to Weezy’s legal problems with Birdman and the Cash Money Records label, he sounded decidedly optimistic and confident about the record‘s impending release:
“The fans deserve it to be right and that’s how it’s gonna be. I’mma make sure it’s right. I can drop whatever I want to drop. I keep dropping whatever I want to drop. But I’m not gonna give ’em Carter V the wrong way.”
Specific details on the eventual release of Tha Carter V were scarce to nonexistent during the interview, though. But it’s good to know that the project has not been abandoned, and that it will indeed see the light of day sometime in the near future, unless Lil Wayne was just lying to radio DJs for fun.
