Movies have changed a lot in the hundred-and-so years since they were invented, but modes of promotion have remained pretty much constant: Posters, trailers, TV and radio spots when possible, and now, internet promotion. But lately there’s been the development of the “motion poster,” which some movie theaters are equipped to display. And the producers of Terminator: Genisys have released one on the internet.
In case you’ve never seen a motion poster, it’s essentially a movie poster that moves (crazy, right?). This particular one, promoting Terminator: Genisys, shows an iconic T-800 metal skull disintegrating into an hourglass-like pile of sand. The theme seems to be about time passing, which is appropriate given the time travel guts of the Terminator franchise.
