Teles Taxidi

There was a time, not so long ago, when a levitating table was exclusively the province of charlatan mediums, who used them and other effects to convince people that they could communicate with departed spirits. Now, the people at Siren Tables have reclaimed the levitating table and completely removed any hint of ectoplasm for the Teles Taxidi hovering table.

“Teles Taxidi” translates to “perfect journey,” which is an interesting name for a hovering table that is held in place by Kevlar cords. ┬áMaybe the best journeys are the ones you take while standing still? Or something. As for the hovering part, it’s achieved with two intricately balanced rare earth magnets, but in order to really appreciate the effect all you have to do is watch the short video below:

While I understand the wobbling as part of what makes a levitating table worthwhile, I do wonder if the Teles Taxidi might by a little chancy a surface to put as much stuff on as a typical coffee table usually supports. But I guess if you can afford to spend $30,000 on a hovering table, you can afford a spill every now and again.

You can place your order and get more information on the table at the official Siren Design site right here.
