Back in 1969, Tag Heuer changed the watch game forever with their Tag Heuer Monaco watch. The timepiece’s Chronomatic Calibre 11 has a permanent home in the annals of timekeeping history thanks to its status as the first-ever automatic movement made available for sale to the public, and for its place on the wrist of Steve McQueen in his film Le Mans. Now, one of the most famous watches in the world is being reissued by Tag Heuer.
The Tag Heuer Monaco watch reissue retains the original’s 39mm case, date window right above the six o’clock marker, retro Tag Heuer logo, and of course the Calibre 11 movement. But it has some 21st century updates too, like its plastic dome over the face and see-through case-back.
Also updated is the Tag Heuer Monaco’s price tag, which is a robust $5,900 at the official Tag Heuer online store right here, where you can also get a lot more information on this coveted reissue.
