George Clooney and the fabulous Coen brothers have collaborated many times, but usually with the Coens writing/directing and George acting. Their next joint, Suburbicon, is a different permutation, with George behind the camera working with a Coen script. Now, a trailer for the upcoming film is here to be scrutinized and analyzed to see how it fits into the larger Coen Brothers Cinematic Universe.
Matt Damon stars as a 50s suburban dad who refuses to pay the mob the money he owes them, so they kill his wife and go after his son. Yep, it’s a comedy. Julianne Moore and Oscar Isaac also star, and the trailer seems to be promising that viewers of Suburbicon will be in for a funny, violent ride:
Personally, I’m just happy Suburbicon isn’t called Suburbia, because there are already too many movies with that title as it is. This movie comes to a suburban movie theater near you in October.
