“Starboy” Video Has 1 Billion YouTube Hits

It’s tempting to want to leave behind everything that happened in 2016 for good. But evidently the public isn’t quite ready to get rid of “Starboy.” The video for The Weeknd and Daft Punk‘s title track off of the former’s hit record just hit a rare milestone: 1 billion YouTube views.

In racking up a billion views on YouTube, Weeknd and the robot twins join acts like DJ Snake, Major Lazer, and Calvin Harris, and “Starboy” adds another honor to its impressive list of accolades in the process, having reportedly gone platinum and diamond in a plethora of countries: Canada, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Australia, Brazil, and the United Kingdom, as well as quadruple platinum in the US.
