The average person gets excited about Star Wars and changes their profile picture to Jabba the Hutt or something, but when you’re a big and successful airline you have to do a little better than that. So it is with All Nippon Airways, who recently unveiled their Star Wars Jet, a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner painted to look like R2-D2 and bearing the Star Wars logo.
The Star Wars Jet was recently revealed on an official ANA YouTube channel, with a video showing the majestic droid/jet flying through the air. ANA says “the R2-D2 character has a reputation for strong, reliable service—one of the hallmarks of ANA’s 5-star quality service,” although I’d like to see an ANA plane get out of even a tenth of the jams R2-D2 has managed to escape from.
