In today’s world, it might seem like you need a college course on the history of superheroes just to watch TV. Well, now you can take just such a course, online and for free. And best of all, it will be taught by none other than Stan Lee, the public face of Marvel Comics for more than 50 years now.
The course is called “The Rise of Superheroes and Their Impact On Pop Culture,” and Stan Lee won’t be by himself in doling out knowledge to eager students worldwide. He’ll have help from a panel of authorities on the subject from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History, as well as movie executives and other guests.
It’s part of a service called EdX, a site from MIT and Harvard that offers free learning to the world through the internet. You can sign up for “The Rise of Superheroes and Their Impact On Pop Culture” taught by Professor Stan Lee at the EdX website here – classes start on May 5th. Still on the fence about bettering yourself through education? You can watch a promotional video on the course below.
