If you’ve ever been watching TV or a movie and wanted to know exactly what someone onscreen is wearing, there is now an app that purports to be able to tell you exactly that. It’s called Spylight, and it’s seeking to do for fashion what Shazam does for music.
Spylight works by identifying the audio of the TV show, then gives you all the available information about the clothes seen therein. And it’s not just guesswork – the Spylight database is populated with data gathered from production companies and other sources for the most accurate and up-to-date fashion info.
Even if you aren’t able to use the free Spylight app, you can still browse that impressive Hollywood fashion database at the Spylight website right here, where you can also get the app or just get some more information on how it works and what it can do. And if someone tells you you’re dressed like James Spader in The Blacklist, just smile inwardly and say to yourself, “I know.” (Do not actually do any of that.)
