Director Spike Lee is well-known as an avid fan of the NBA, and more specifically, the New York Knicks. Now, he’s putting that fandom to good use for the NBA, directing the latest ad for their new “Big” advertising campaign.
It’s called “The King of New York,” and it features Spike looking vaguely child-like in the passenger seat of a vehicle, spitting out a monologue about former Knicks forward Bernard King, one of the greatest scorers in NBA history.
You can check out the 30-second spot below. It may not be the next Do The Right Thing, but it’s pretty good anyway.
