Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4 is one of those movies that was supposed to happen, then never happened, but the legend of which will persist for decades. Now, another piece of that legend has been made public thanks to storyboard artist Jeffrey Henderson, who recently released some of his storyboards and concept art for the aborted project on his blog.
According to Henderson, Raimi has a superstitious fear of releasing storyboard art to the public, but since Spider-Man 4 was never made, he evidently got the green light. As for the storyboards themselves, they reveal who the big villains for the movie were going to be: Classic Spidey foes Vulture and Mysterio, as well as a feel for what some of the action scenes were going to be like.
While the dream of a Sam Raimi-directed Spider-Man 4 starring Larry David as Vulture will probably never come to pass, you can check out some of the storyboards from the project in the gallery below. And to see everything in its original blog post, head over to Jeffrey Henderson’s blog right here.
