This year marks the 50th anniversary of the greatest science-fiction film of all time, 2001: A Space Odyssey. The best way to commemorate the occasion is naturally to watch the movie itself, but the second best way would be to read the upcoming book by Michael Benson entitled Space Odyssey: Stanley Kubrick, Arthur C. Clarke, and the Making of a Masterpiece.
Space Odyssey comes out next month, and covers everything from Stanley Kubrick and Arthur C. Clarke’s first fated meeting to the film’s continued influence on movies, art, and culture well into the 21st century. As per the book’s official description:
“The tale is fleshed out via interviews with Clarke, Kubrick’s widow Christiane, and other key contributors, giving you a unique inside perspective on a true cinema classic.”
Space Odyssey: Stanley Kubrick, Arthur C. Clarke, and the Making of a Masterpiece arrives from beyond the infinite on April 3rd, but you can pre-order a copy from Amazon right here.
