Anyone who ever had an irresponsible older brother knows the trick of cracking open a lighter and adjusting it so that it creates much bigger flames than intended. But the new Soto Pocket Torch provides this giant flame without any handiwork.

The Soto Pocket Torch, just like your older brother’s method, works with pretty much any rectangular disposable lighter. You just click it over the top, and you now have a wind-resistant blue flame that can burn as hot as 2,300 degrees Fahrenheit. What you do with this new power is up to you—but if it can be done with a torch, you’ll now be able to do it with a lighter. This includes lighting candles and campfires, but also heavier-duty jobs like cutting rope and soldering objects together.

Somewhat frighteningly, the Soto Pocket Torch is priced under $20, and you can get your own from REI’s online store right here.
