It’s very clear by now that the next generation of smart technology will include a strong emphasis on physical fitness. Now Sony is getting into this fitness racket with the SmartBand, a fitness tracker designed to work with Sony and other Android mobile devices.
The Sony SmartBand offers the usual fitness-tracking features, as well as the ability to notify users when they’ve received a call or text—you can even interface with your phone by touching the SmartBand in the right place. It can also track data that isn’t strictly related to fitness, like photos taken and other social networking activities.
It’s designed to be worn 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so if you’re ready to make that kind of commitment, head to Sony’s SmartBand website here for more information. If you’re not sure yet, you can check out the promotional video from Sony below, as well as a few pictures (also from Sony) in the gallery up top.
