They say that art often imitates life and vice-versa, but does that account for a deck of playing cards designed to emulate the digital cards seen in the 90s Windows Solitaire game, that were themselves designed to emulate actual traditional playing cards? This is just one of the thoughtful questions provoked by the Solitaire Cards from Areaware.
Solitaire Cards, designed by Apple designer Susan Kare, might look more or less like regular playing cards at first glance. But a closer look will bring guaranteed waves of nostalgia to anyone who spent time in the 90s killing time in front of a PC. Even the box the cards come in reproduces the familiar Solitaire graphic icon for an immersive experience.
