In 2017 in Orlando, Florida, the Skyscraper at Skyplex will, if all goes according to plan, be open to the general public. Normally that wouldn’t be news three years in advance, but in this case, when that happens the Skyscraper will be the tallest roller coaster in the world, and that’s only one impressive aspect of its design.
Skyplex is a proposed amusement park/shopping center/nightmare on Earth that will be home to the Skyscraper, which will tower over 500 feet above the ground and send riders up and down every inch of those 500 feet. US Thrill Rides, the company responsible for the coaster, has released a demo video to give you an idea of what riders of the Skyscraper will be in for.
Michael Kitchen, president of the company, had this to say:
“Skyscraper will not only take riders higher than ever before, but also introduce one thrill right after the next – there’s no ‘down time’ on this four-minute coaster experience.”
You can watch the Skyscraper demo video below, and I will say that it does look like a pretty incredible ride that I will never experience. You can read a little more about the ride here, and if you book a flight to Orlando for 2017 right now, it will probably be pretty cheap.
