Jackson, New Jersey’s Six Flags Great Adventure has a new ace up their sleeve for the approaching Memorial Day weekend. It’s called Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, and it will take people up 41 stories into the air and drop them at a speed of 90 miles per hour. Screaming will probably be involved.
Interestingly, Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom is built on the face of an existing roller coaster at the park, called Kingda Ka (which also happens to be the tallest roller coaster in the world), so this ride could be described as the most hardcore way to people-watch in the entire country.
You can get a good idea of how the whole thing is set up in the video below, which shows a computer generated rendering of what riders on Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom will experience once the ride opens sometime between now and Memorial Day weekend, which is coming up at the end of next month.
