Shake Shack has a history of collaborating with high profile chefs despite its position as a sometimes overhyped (yeah, I said it!) fast food chain. The latest example is the Shake Shack Eel Burger, created by famed British chef Fergus Henderson.
The Shake Shack Eel Burger substitutes smoked eel for the usual beef patty, and the burger is topped with a fancy schmancy array of Niman Ranch bacon, pickled red onion, crème fraîche, fresh horseradish and watercress. Despite these luxe trappings, the burger’s only ten bucks, which is a steal within the walls of a Shake Shack.
It will reportedly only be available for two days, and you’ll be able to try the Shake Shack Eel Burger along with some specialty desserts (like vanilla custard doughnuts, a Henderson specialty) as well as a line of wines from Chef Henderson’s St. John restaurant at your local Shack on September 15th and 16th.
