Sunday night during Game Five of the NBA Finals, viewers were treated to a commercial from Jay-Z and Samsung revealing a couple of cool tidbits. Among them was word that Jay is releasing a new album entitled Magna Carta Holy Grail on July 4th.
But the real exciting news became clear a little later—that news being that the first people to get access to the album will be Samsung Galaxy S III, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note II users who download the appropriate app by June 24th. Even more surprising is the fact that the album will be available for free to those users.
It’s a brand new model of distribution by a major recording artist, so that means it’s big news for anyone interested in music and/or technology. The whole thing can be found on the album’s website here, so give it a look if you’re interested.
