Joining the Samsung Gear smartwatch line is the Samsung Gear Fit, a (as you could probably guess from the name) more fitness-oriented smartwatch that doesn’t sacrifice performance for the emphasis on exercise.
The dustproof and waterproof Samsung Gear Fit boasts a curved 1.84-inch AMOLED screen, as well as heart rate and sleep monitors, pedometer, and much more. But the coolest part of the Gear Fit is its ability to sync up via Bluetooth with your smartphone, and display your notifications on your wrist while you’re exercising. You can also use it to control your music, all while your phone stays safely in your pocket.
It’s all part of Samsung’s “Wearable Tech” initiative, which may very well be the next big thing in gadgets (I myself am hoping for a smart pocket watch, but I doubt that will ever happen). Release details on the Samsung Gear Fit are still to come, but you can get plenty more info from Samsung’s website here.
