New from Samsung, it’s the first smartphone from the brand to be made entirely from metal and glass, no mico SD slot, and no removable battery. It’s the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, and those few aforementioned features are from the only aspects of this phone that make it an exciting next step in the evolution of smartphones.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge boasts impressive specs like a 16 megapixel, f/1.9 rear camera with optical image stabilization, a 5 megapixel front-facing camera, 3GB of RAM, and more, but the thing you’ll probably notice first is the phone’s dual-curve, 5.1-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display, which is basically the smartphone screen equivalent to one of those infinity pools that seem to go on beyond the “edge” of the rim. It also supports wireless charging only, so you can’t plug this thing into the wall even if you want to (for some reason).
Full release details on the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge are still to come, but there is an elaborate pre-release website from Samsung that you can check out right here, where you can also sign up to receive updates when they become public.
