Watch your ass, Segway. The Ryno Microcycle is here, and it adds a touch of hog to the Segway formula.
Of course, since the one-wheeled Microcycle only reaches a top speed of 10 miles per hour, it’s unlikely it would find any favor in a biker bar. But its motorcycle-inspired design would probably impress a majority of Segway riders.
The Ryno Microcycle is a triumph of form over function, with handlebars that are pretty much just for show, since the Microcycle is controlled by the driver’s leaning back and forth, just like a Segway. And it’s powered by an electric motor that can go up to 10 miles on a single charge. Not a long-haul vehicle by any means, but it might let you get to the grocery store and back.
As I’m sure you’ve guessed by now, the Ryno Microcycle isn’t cheap, if for no other reason than to keep people from thinking it’s a toy. You can get some more info, and pre-order a Microcycle, at Ryno’s website here. And there’s a short promotional video of the Microcycle in action below.
