Custom watch firm Bamford Watch Department and the Los Angeles designer Dr. Romanelli  have teamed up on a custom Rolex watch inspired by the Popeye character Brutus (also known as Bluto to Popeye purists). As for the watch’s name, it’s called the Rolex Deepsea “Brutus.”

The black titanium that coats the Rolex Deepsea “Brutus” will be familiar to anyone who knows the work of the Bamford Watch Department, while the hits of red, yellow, and blue in the accents will bring to mind the primary colors of the Popeye comic strip. Taking center stage on the face is a figure of the watch’s namesake, Brutus, whose muscular arms are taking a break from kidnapping Olive Oyl in order to keep the time.

The Rolex Deepsea “Brutus” from Bamford Watch Department and Dr. Romanelli is part of a series of recent watches from Bamford inspired by classic comic strips, and like previous installments, this one is a limited edition – only 20 pieces will be available for purchase. To make an inquiry, you can get more info from Bamford Watch Department’s website here, and you can see a few pictures of the watch as well as its collectible case and poster in the gallery up top.
