Even before his death by suicide, Robin Williams embodied the “tortured clown” archetype in such a way that was probably only clear to his closest friends. And it’s those friends — Steve Martin, Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, Eric Idle and more among them — that are providing the spine for an upcoming documentary on the late comedian entitled Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind.
Robin Williams: Come Inside My Mind comes to HBO next month from director Marina Zenovich, who earlier explored the ‘[Legendary Stand-up Comedian]: [Imperative Statement]’ subgenre with Richard Pryor: Omit the Logic. And it’s billed as “an intimate look into the life and work of Robin Williams, the master of stage and comedy,” so it should be worth a watch for fans.
